Middlebury Land Trust Renewal of Accreditation
The land trust accreditation program of the Land Trust Alliance (LTA) recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. Middlebury Land Trust, Inc., initially accredited in 2020 is pleased to announce that it is now applying for renewal of its accreditation. A public comment period is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the LTA, conducts an extensive review of each applicant's policies and programs. This is a voluntary and very rigorous process.
Accreditation is a mark of distinction, showing that a land trust meets high standards for land conservation. The accreditation seal offers the assurance that a land trust can keep the promise of perpetuity and that it is worthy of the public trust.
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Middlebury Land Trust, Inc., complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards see http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices. To learn more about the accreditation program and to submit a comment, visit www.landtrustaccreditation.org, or email your comment to info@landtrustaccreditation.org. Comments may also be faxed (518-587-3183) or mailed to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, Attn: Public Comments, 36 Phila Street, Suite 2, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Comments on Middlebury Land Trust, Inc.'s application will be most useful before November 5, 2024 TO December 17, 2024.
